Pete Castro "Celebrity Artist" as described by Fox5 MORE Show Las Vegas, also uses the tag CastroART in homage to the many early graffiti artists he admires. He is an accomplished artist, sometimes referred to as an "emerging artist" but his works are already in the collection of a number of prominent collectors, and with large scale installations in Las Vegas public spaces and also collected by a few celebrities including David Arquette, TJ Lavin, NappyTabs, and Wanya Morris

Paintings by CastroART are currently exhibited in The Forum Shoppes at Caesars Palace Hotel, Las Vegas and in galleries in Miami and also West Hollywood California. Within the past two years, Castro has begun a special collection of art to wear especially hand painted, one of a kind, hand signed men's and women's leather jackets. These are exhibited in Mandalay Bay Hotel Las Vegas in Elton's specialty clothing boutique and in Nora Blue. With a recent premier art show opening in Chelsea New York City, Pete is currently working on a collection of paintings on canvas for his three exhibitions coming up - a solo exhibition in Las Vegas and in Louisiana, and a group show to coordinate with Art Basel in Miami.

Born in the Bronx NY, where he lived until age 12, and then raised in San Diego CA when his family relocated. Moving from gritty New York to the sunny beaches of California was a huge culture shock and a tough adjustment from east coast to west coast life. But art made the transition easier. Pete sketched whenever he had some time and this ability and those skills made a big difference in this abrupt change of circumstance. He was a shy kid and one day - during his second week at a new elementary school - he drew Bart Simpson and Vanilla Ice. Kids in his class were astonished by his drawing ability --- and from that day on, Pete became the popular kid and he has been painting ever since

The influence of the Bronx never really left his memory and the graffiti that he saw all over New York in his childhood make an impact on him that continues to this day. He was transfixed by this art form that contained such vibrant and puzzling works of typography.

Utilizing oil, acrylic, mixed media materials, airbrush, charcoal and spray paint he works more than full time at his art career. In addition to traditional works on canvas and paper, he paints on guitars, mannequins, shoes and especially works to wear on leather. Wall murals and installations of mega size are important and exciting projects.

Believing strongly in giving back to the community, Pete, through his art, has worked with charity organizations including Make A Wish, Goodie Two Shoes Foundation, Aspergers, and other local and worldwide groups.

"Pete Castro has the ability to see the tough world we live in but capture it with a kindness and soft edge that makes his work so truthful and unique" Carolyn Solomon, ArtCetera Art Gallery, Las Vegas.
