Dmitri was born and raised in Chelyabinsk, Russia where he studied art at Chelyabinsk Art College.

After moving to Toronto, Canada in 1996, Dmitri continued to paint and pursue his art education at the Toronto School of Art, while also specializing in Human Biology at the University of Toronto. He was inducted into the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour in 2001.

Dmitri’s distinctive style has varied in mediums and subject matter, its appeal garnering media attention. Splitting his time between London, England and Peterborough, Canada his work has broadened from watercolour landscape and commissioned portraiture to oil paintings of musicians and their music. Dmitri has enjoyed successful shows at Pitzshanger Museum Gallery (London, UK), Iona House Gallery in Woodstock (Oxford, UK), Artists of Russia (Guildford, UK), Toronto Art Expo, Toronto Outdoor, Toronto Hart House Gallery and at The Affordable Art Fair (London, UK).
